I only heard of Vedge when I got an invite in my email form to visit the restaurant to try out their new menu. On reading more I came to know that it had won many awards in the past few years for being the best vegetarian restaurant.
The ambiance in the restaurant was very good. Interiors were good with slow music playing in the background. The place was spacious and the staff was courteous.
The menu had many Indian and continental food items. I ordered some which were Vedge favorites and recommended by the staff.
Paan Supari Martini: Flavor of this drink was very unique and just tasted like paan, in a good way. The flavor was not too overpowering and added a nice refreshment to the mouth. 4.5/5 on taste. Recommended.
Spicy Guava Delight: This was similar to guava fruit juice served in a glass with spicy masala on the rim. The taste was the same as eating guava with the masala. 4/5 on taste.
Paneer Tossed in chili garlic oyster sauce: This was among the best tasting starters I have ever had. The paneer was super soft and mingled with the sauce. The flavor of the sauce was spicy but not much and had a great Chinese starter flavor. 5/5 on taste. Recommended.
Paneer Chilli Stir-fry bao: It was a bao with small paneer pieces along with bell peppers with sesame on top. Paneer was not so soft but the taste was good. Overall the taste of the bao with paneer and peppers was good. 4/5 on taste.
Mac ‘N’ Cheese Pizza Pot Pie: Imagine this dish as a Mac N Cheese cooked in a bowl with thin pizza crust on top. Bowl was opened in front of us on the table with 2 types of cheese and parsley added on top of it in front of us. The macaroni was a bit on the drier side and flavor of the cheese was not much. I cannot call it a good pizza or a good macaroni. My wife did not like it at all and found it to be heavy. This dish is good in looks and uniqueness but the taste did not match. I especially did not like it much as I am a Mac N Cheese fan and I have had good ones in many restaurants. 3/5 on taste.
Pani Puri Shots: It had puris with filling and spicy and tangy water in the shot glasses. The flavor of the pani puri was not like the ones you get on Mumbai street and more like the ones you make it at home. Spicy water was very spicy and one mixed with tangy water was the middle ground. My wife is a fan of pani puri and is someone who eats pani puri at every corner. She loved this pani puri. 4.5/5 on taste.
Chocolate Mud Pie: This was a live dessert made in front of us. There was hot chocolate brownie which was crushed and mixed with vanilla ice cream scoop in front of us. Chocolate chips, cocoa powder, chocolate syrup, powdered sugar, and mint leaves were added on top of it. The taste was similar to Walnut brownie with ice cream you get at MacDonald’s. The taste was very good with flavors or brownie, chocolate syrup, and chocolate chips coming out predominantly. 4.5/5 on taste.
Overall an excellent experience at this restaurant which we would remember for a while. I would have tried more items but I was full but in future, I might update the review if I try more items.
